Compiled in the 9th century CE by the renowned Persian scholar, Imām al-Bukhārī, Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī is regarded by the majority of Muslims as the most authoritative religious text after the Holy Qurʾān. To this day, Imām al-Bukhārī’s work serves as the benchmark of scholarly excellence in the field of ḥadīth studies. Scholars throughout the world continue to study it, teach it, and make reference to it in their public addresses.
